Sweet love poems
A single kiss
- by John Golden 59
If ones name is but a glimpse of their soulThen we are simple machines on cruise control
When you put a name on a term such as love
Then it is merely but a concept you speak of
For desires so rich, not a single word can describe
No wealth in this world enough to my heart bribe
A bed of roses merely a vision of nature's beauty
For it was I that to you, failed to perform my duty
To your door I've tried and tried many times to knock
But you only slam the door, and closed it with a lock
On the exterior, you showed nothing and stood so tough
That this word called love would never be enough
But there I stood, hoping for a chance, a beginning anew
That day in my heart, looking in your sweet eyes I knew
At this moment, I realized that I only had a single shot
That then our hearts would melt like chocolate in a pot
Eye to eye, we shared a gaze, one of eternal bliss
For it was that day we together shared a single kiss
Treasures we own
- by Stacey Smith 58
When my hand is wrinkled so,it's you that I will still want you know.
As my hair turns silver and gray
remember me as I was yesterday.
My long red hair blowing in the breeze,
we loved each other with ease.
Now in the park your hand I hold,
you keep me warm as it turns cold.
We sit on a bench and feed the birds,
not a single word needs to be heard.
Remembrances of years gone by,
we both smile...we both sigh.
Remembering our first glance,
and for hours how we danced.
The flowers you gave to me for no reason,
and the little things you did every season,
made me a believer in true love.
The kind that's been blessed from above.
Our children have grown and left our home,
all those memories we now own.
A treasure of love is between two hearts,
nothing has ever torn them apart.
Our love has stood the test of time,
we are still together our souls entwined.
Until the day we shall pass from here,
eternally we are one soul my dear.
