- Criss Jami99◆ Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.
- Theodore Roosevelt99◆ He was a mystery to her, and every time she tried to solve him it caused her a little more pain. But when she tired to give him up he pursued her in her thoughts, stronger each time.
- Anna Godbersen99◆ Envy is the religion of the mediocre. It comforts them, it soothes their worries, and finally it rots their souls, allowing them to justify their meanness and their greed until they believe these to be virtues. Such people are convinced that the doors of heaven will be opened only to poor wretches like themselves who go through life without leaving any trace but their threadbare attempts to belittle others and to exclude - and destroy if possible - those who, by the simple fact of their existence, show up their own poorness of spirit, mind, and guts. Blessed be the one at whom the fools bark, because his soul will never belong to them.
- Carlos Ruiz Zafón99◆ Those people, who hate you, envy your freedom.
- Santosh Kalwar99◆ There was no pleasure like being envied on a mass scale.
- Anna Godbersen99◆ We ruined each other by being together. We destroyed each other's dreams.
- Kate Chisman99◆ Envy, after all, comes from wanting something that isn't yours. But grief comes from losing something you've already had.
- Jodi Picoult99◆ Anger, resentment and jealousy doesn't change the heart of others-- it only changes yours.
- Shannon L. Alder99◆ Years from now, when I'm successful and happy, ...and he's in prison... I hope I'm not too mature to gloat.
- Bill Watterson99◆ If the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, you can bet the water bill is higher.
- Debbie Macomber99◆ Nothing is as obnoxious as other people's luck.
- F. Scott Fitzgerald99◆ To find out a girl's faults, praise her to her girlfriends.
- Benjamin Franklin99◆ There is a magnificent, beautiful, wonderful painting in front of you! It is intricate, detailed, a painstaking labor of devotion and love! The colors are like no other, they swim and leap, they trickle and embellish! And yet you choose to fixate your eyes on the small fly which has landed on it! Why do you do such a thing?
- C. JoyBell C.99◆ I have always found it odd that people who think passive aggressively ignoring a person is making a point to them. The only point it makes to anyone is your inability to articulate your point of view because deep down you know you can't win. It's better to assert yourself and tell the person you are moving on without them and why, rather than leave a lasting impression of cowardness on your part in a person's mind by avoiding them.
- Shannon L. Alder99
